For those who didn't see it, bear with me. I'm typing this as I see and hear it on TV for those who'd like some of the details:

Marines targeting enemy positions in Fallujah.......

Coalition launches airstrikes in Fallujah

US AC-130 Spector gunship hammers targets in Fallujah......said to be the Al Jolan (sp) District of Fallujah.

Around 11pm Fallujah time A130 gunship and tanks targeted strikes to enemy weapon sites......songs and chants heard from mosques during airstrikes.....women and children were given ample time to leave the city.......Fallujah about 30-35 miles from Bagdad....there had been a cease fire agreement between civil and religious leaders and coalition but it was ignored by insergents and our Marines were being rocketed/shot at, etc. every day...... yesterday 1 Marine was killed and 9 injured - 3 seriously. The 27th was given as the final of a number of deadlines given the insergents to turn over their heavy arms......instead they sent in trucks loaded with rusted junk weapons to our soldiers. The insurgents were told "give up your weapons and give them up NOW or we're comin' in guns 'a blazin' ".

The insurgents were hiding weapons in the mosques and other holy places, etc.

Many of the Fallujah civilians had left the city in the past week or so due to warnings from our soldiers and prior to the strike our soldiers drove through the streets giving the "20 minute warning" to leave the city immediately due to the impending strike.

The A130 gunship is a highly technical piece of equipment with ability to fire canons, machine guns, various rockets and missiles -and very sopisticated listening and visual equipment. It has the ability to precision strike....

Live pictures were on the air for hours......constant explosions.....horizon completely invisible.....only huge licks of fire and great black plumes of smoke rising. Multitudes of secondasry explosions coming from the site being targeted - sites where weapons that are killing/injuring our troops were being stockpiled.

Also explosions and gunfire in Syrian neighborhood...in Damascus area where diplomats live - said to be terrorist attacks near the British Ambassador's residence and the Saudi embasy or residence. UN office of Damascus was on fire......3 vehicles destroyed....small number of people injured. Innocents on the ground in Damascus not injured in the terrorist band attack.

I'm pooped! At this time there is no word from the area of Fallujah as to casualties - air and ground firing could be clearly seen. It's still burning.......this is the town where 4 of our civilians were killed, burned, drug through the streets and some of the bodies hung from a bridge.
